Today’s post is something I am very passionate about! I have journaled for as long as I can remember, I’m pretty sure I have journals that date back to when I was only 8 years old.
For most of my life, I have been a pretty private person that happens to have a terrible memory. That is probably my biggest flaw. I have been fortunate to have taken many vacations with my family but more often than not, they get repressed to this small corner of my brain, never to be thought about again until something triggers that memory. However, it’s not often that something triggers a memory.
So, to help my forgetful self and just to be able to process thoughts and emotions, I started journaling. The journals I like and used have defiantly changed over time. The first journals I had were super wide ruled spiral notebooks essentially, just a bit nicer. As I got older I loved horses and had a pair of horse journals which still makes me laugh. Around the time I became a teenager, I moved onto unique journals. These were often leather journals or more of a bohemian style some of which are too colorful for my now adult taste.
Having moved on to adulthood, I have developed a love for a neutral and natural toned color pallet. With my new preferences for colors, I have developed a new preference for journals. I wish I could say I had nice, or even legible handwriting, but that’s not the case, so I tend to stick lines journals. If you posses the coveted skill to be able to write neatly and in a straight line, you deserve a round of applause.
For my friends out there that can’t write neat or straight to save their lives, don’t worry, all of the journals I have listed below have lines. So let’s get into it! By the way, I am sorry if the image quality is poor, I am pulling these photos from the brand’s website.
#1 Promptly Journal
Promptly has many more notebook options such as those with prompts, hence the name! They have ones for your love story, travels, childhood, autobiography, and more. The travel and love story journals are high on my list to get, so I highly suggest you check them out! I’ll link some of the others below.
#2 Peter Pauper Press Obsidian Journal
Peter Pauper Press is another company that has a lot of journal options. this one is personally my favorite, but if you like color I would suggest checking them on amazon.
#3 Abigail Crafts 32k Linen Notebook
I really love the simplicity of this notebook. I also think once you filled it up, it could easily be used as decor around your home.
#4 MOO Hardcover Notebook
Yet another simple and sleek notebook. They have other colors such as navy, grey, burnt orange, and pink. They are relatively popular I assume based on how often the colors go out of stock on amazon.
#5 Victoria’s Journals Vintage Leatherette Journal
This journal is absolutely stunning. I am a sucker for vintage looking journals and this one is perfect. Not to mention, it seems very high quality on my opinion which is awesome for those of us who carry our journals everywhere.
#6 Paperblanks Nocturnelle Grande Journal
Yet another vintage inspired journal that I am in love with. Pretty much anything along the lines of a journal like this is a win. They have other options like ultra lined and sketchbook styles.
I hope you enjoyed learning about why I journal and will continue to journal. I also hope you found the journals I listed helpful or found another journal to add to your collection that is still waiting to be written in.
Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!
