Why I Journal + Journals I Love

Today’s post is something I am very passionate about! I have journaled for as long as I can remember, I’m pretty sure I have journals that date back to when I was only 8 years old.

For most of my life, I have been a pretty private person that happens to have a terrible memory. That is probably my biggest flaw. I have been fortunate to have taken many vacations with my family but more often than not, they get repressed to this small corner of my brain, never to be thought about again until something triggers that memory. However, it’s not often that something triggers a memory.

So, to help my forgetful self and just to be able to process thoughts and emotions, I started journaling. The journals I like and used have defiantly changed over time. The first journals I had were super wide ruled spiral notebooks essentially, just a bit nicer. As I got older I loved horses and had a pair of horse journals which still makes me laugh. Around the time I became a teenager, I moved onto unique journals. These were often leather journals or more of a bohemian style some of which are too colorful for my now adult taste.

Having moved on to adulthood, I have developed a love for a neutral and natural toned color pallet. With my new preferences for colors, I have developed a new preference for journals. I wish I could say I had nice, or even legible handwriting, but that’s not the case, so I tend to stick lines journals. If you posses the coveted skill to be able to write neatly and in a straight line, you deserve a round of applause.

For my friends out there that can’t write neat or straight to save their lives, don’t worry, all of the journals I have listed below have lines. So let’s get into it! By the way, I am sorry if the image quality is poor, I am pulling these photos from the brand’s website.

I also am fond of moleskin journals, but quite honestly I haven’t any that I have like recently because they were usually quite small and thin. Typically I like thicker journals. Thank you so much for reading!
